UPSET CLIENT

I have lost items on holiday in December. Claim number: ***8*001*003 I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with the way my claim has been handled. As a paying customer who has kept my premiums up to date, I expect a higher standard of service, but instead, I have been subjected to frustrating and intrusive requests that feel entirely unreasonable.

Initially, I was told to submit proof of ownership for my claimed items. I explained that most of these items were over 5 years old and therefore didn't have formal evidence. In good faith, I sent clear photographs of the items, but this was dismissed as insufficient. I then provided an affidavit, which seems to have been completely ignored.

To make matters worse, I was then asked for consent to access my previous insurer's information, which felt intrusive. Following that, you suddenly requested access to my phone's location, the GPS data from my smar****ch, and even my credit record. This raises serious concerns about the level of personal information you're demanding. The maximum payout for this claim is R30,000, and I have to question whether it’s worth handing over so much personal data to a company or individual that I no longer feel comfortable trusting.

The issue at hand is that I paid my premiums, and I clearly outlined the items that were at risk. You agreed to insure those items, and now, when I file a legitimate claim, I am being bombarded with irrelevant and excessive requests for information that has nothing to do with the items in question. This process is not only invasive but also completely undermines the trust I placed in your company.

At this point, I feel like I’m being treated as a ******** rather than a customer seeking to recover losses on items I’ve faithfully insured. I will not be recommending your insurance to anyone. When you make a claim, you should not be made to feel as though you’re at fault for doing so.

I expect an immediate review of my claim without further demands for irrelevant personal data. If this continues, I will have no choice but to seek further action.
