Travel insurance refusing to pay for rabies injections when bitten by a dog while traveling
I recently took out Hollard Travel Insurance for a trip to Vietnam. During my trip I was bitten by an aggressive street dog and need to receive a course of rabies shots. Rabies requires 5 separate shots taken on day 0, 3, 5, 14, and 25. Hollard decided that each shot constitutes as a "separate treatment" making each treatment less than the excess. This is insulting and downright ******** behaviour.

02 Aug 2024, 08:19They've responded to me that I should read the wording of the policy, which explicitly states that they wont cover something that requires multiple visits. So if you're planning on being bitten by a dog in South East Asia, choose a different insurer.
