The only accident was trusting Hollard insurance
The Consumer Protection Act, 86 of 2008, aims to promote fair and accessible best business practices, and protect consumers from unconscionable, unfair, unreasonable, unjust or otherwise improper trade practices and, deceptive, misleading, unfair or ********** conduct. I believe that my rights and privileges enshrined in the aforementioned act have been breached as a patient, well-paying client of Hollard insurance.
Due to the unprofessional and unfit service rendered by the employees of Hollard, my claim has been ongoing for over 2.5 months. I, having been led to believe the car was a write-off by Hollard insurance made no efforts to regain the written-off vehicle and proceeded to cancel the Net Star tracking device on the vehicle. In the preceding days following the claim approval I made numerous calls to Hollard – with the employees always promising a call-back, but not keeping their promise. I continued to call repeatedly with the service provider who consistently failed to provide tangible feedback as to the progress of the already confirmed write-off claim. A few days ago, I called in once again to find out why nothing had been done with the claim after it had been approved that vehicle was a write-off and was horrified, shocked and perplexed when an employee of Hollard, informed me that there was a dispute between the assessor and investigator as to the final outcome of the vehicle. My husband and I had already began efforts to procure another vehicle and had no knowledge to the state and safety of the vehicle to which Hollard now wanted us to take back!
Hollard Insurance has not only behaved unprofessionally and *********ly during my claim, but they have also disrespected me and mislead me, causing unnecessary stress and costs.
How can an insurance company be so unprofessional that they change the outcome of a claim every few days?
Besides having been deceived and **** to by Hollard- I am deeply hurt that I trusted them with my hard-earned money. Dealing with them has been nothing short of a tedious, pain-staking ordeal. If they have any professional decency and respect, they would adhere to their original claim approval.
