Taking changes

I bought a cell phone with the value of R5,399.00 by Edgars Parow Centre a year ago. Upon buying the cell phone i took out insurance on it just in case something happens. I got my policy stated my gadget is covered for R5,000.00 and my 1st claim excess will be R300.00. This year my phone got stollen and i did all i had to do to put through a claim. (case no, affidavit etc.) Waited 7 days and i had to call edgards myself to find out by when my claim will be approved, as i didnt hear from the insurance company. Edgars told me that the claim was approved but i could only claim for R2,999.00 and my excess will be R500.00. I called Hollard who told me that the premuim changed to R500 this year. Firstly, i was never informed about any changes. I expected my contract that i received to be binding. How can things just change & you dont inform your client? And to top it off, my excess is R500 but i can only claim for R2,999.00 and my phone cost R5,399.00. Katlego called me from Hollard and told me i have to wait for another 5 working days. How pathetic is it that i have to wait so long to claim for my own phone. Its easy to take my money every month but longer to solve it.
