Ridiculous claim procedure
I submitted a house burglary claim to Hollard late December 2015. 5 weeks later they paid out a third of the claim to me while the claim was already only half of my insured amount. The assessor; Chris Ketson from Ketson Assessing Bureau came to assess the damage. He was rude and unbelievably unhelpful. After submitting documents requested, I would only get an answer with a request to submit more documents. After contacting Chris I simply got the message: \I am merely following instructions from the underwriter. Please do not shoot the messenger\". The service is horrible from him as well as Hollard who has not once contacted me regarding this issue. One would expect someone sitting there to simply pick up the phone and discuss the situation with me. Instead they hide behind their assessor and broker. I pay monthly for an insured amount to protect my assets only to find out they don't pay out half of it due to small details. My privacy was invaded and I took massive losses. Then the last thing one needs is to be treated like a ******** by the assessor and insurance company who is supposed to assist you. "
