Refusing to pay for damage - terrible service overall - do not use

25 January 2018 I was driving in the rain on Charlotte Maxeke between 21;00 and 00:00. As i approached the part of the road with a train bridge over it, I realised there was a pool of water on the road. I did not realise just how high the water was until i was inside it, and even if i had i would not have been able to stop in time or turn around as Charlotte Maxeke is one-way road with busy traffic. Water must have gotten into the car because it switched off as i was getting out on the other end of the pool.

I immediately called my insurance company. They told me that roadside assistance would come and assist me. I waited for nearly two hours before someone arrived. When assistance finally arrived, the driver did not have the necessary tools required to tow an automatic vehicle. I called the insurance and told them the problem and they told me to call BMW and ask them to send a technician to come and force the car's gear into Neutral so it can be pushed onto the tow truck. I refused. A technician would take forever to arrive and even longer to perform the task. The insurer then asked the tow truck driver to go and get the necessary equipment, which resulted in another 1 hour long wait.

Eventually the tow truck driver returned and took the car to SMD Pretoria.

29 January 2020 I received an SMS from the insurer stating that an assesor would be in touch with me.

Sometime in February (cannot remember exact date) The insurer informed me that my claim was approved and that my car would be taken to Zambesi ARC to be fitted with a new engine.

05 March Zambesi ARC called me to inform that they discovered further damage of the parts that link to the engine. They informed me that they sent a list of these damages to the Insurer for approval. The insurer only approved 3 of the 6 newly discovered damages, claiming that these damages were not "incident related". These are all things that were working just fine before the incident.

The issue i really want to dispute is where the insurer claims that my car's computer screen, which has been listed as part of the damage, could not have been damaged by the water because the water did not get in the car, only in the engine. This is ridiculous since the car is an electronic machine and water can cause short circuiting that leads to damage of electrical components.
