Putting Lives in Danger

As the underwriter for Naked Insurance, Hollard is ultimately liable for Naked's actions and inactions. I have a complaint on here about Naked and have been trying to get the entire issue, and my claim payout, resolved for weeks. It has been almost a month since my claim was submitted and several weeks since it was approved, but Naked is still trying to implement underhanded tactics. A week ago, I contacted Hollard directly and sent through all the details of the multitude of problems and they assured me that they would handle things, yet still nothing has been done and I've received absolutely no further feedback from Hollard, nor a satisfactory resolution from Naked. This has had such a severe impact on my health that I've been to hospital twice to receive oxygen for severe panic attacks caused by the extreme stress of this ********** ordeal and utterly awful experience with Naked - and I am now literally typing this from the hospital as I'm here AGAIN to received oxygen. This time the doctors are talking about running tests because they think that these panic attacks may actually have been a series of mild heart attacks and they're worried that I may end up having a severe, potentially lethal, heart attack. It is completely unacceptable and unforgivable that Naked causes such serious health issues to their clients and that Hollard does nothing about it. I'm about to send all this info and forward all the emails to a lawyer in case I do end up dying of a heart attack because maybe I can then at least save someone else from going through the same horrific experience. I cannot believe an insurance company would literally put a client's life in jeopardy.

Kindly note that, to date, I have still not received any feedback at all from Hollard, aside from one generic email with a reference number. No resolution has been offered and no information regarding what will be done to ensure that Naked improves their service. Hollard has not yet attended to this matter in any way and my health is rapidly declining.

That "formal acknowledgment letter" was a generic template letter that was sent on 21 December 2023 (12 days ago) and nothing further has been attended to by Hollard so please don't insult me by claiming that anyone is working tirelessly to resolve my complaint. Naked is STILL trying to downgrade my ****** items to enable them to offer a replacement value that is so low that it won't "restore me to the position I was in before the insured event" AND they're still trying to pay me in a either Takealot vouchers or a claims card that only works at store that don't exist in my area (and several on the list don't even exist at all anymore!). This is an absolute sham and there is nothing at all in my policy documentation that states they will try to pay in these ridiculous and useless ways. Nothing about that was EVER disclosed to me and I would definitely NOT have signed up with Naked if they'd been true to their promises of transparency when I was enquiring. I was conned into insuring my items with Naked due to their lack of transparency and now they're trying to underpay me and payout in a way that I cannot use. This is disgusting and your lack of attention to the matter speaks volumes about Hollard not caring about the clients that its little Naked company is mistreating and swindling.

The Naked complaints team has not been of any assistance at all. They refuse to address the downgrading of my items for lower replacement values, refuse to address that these non-traditional payout methods were not disclosed to me at the time of my coverage being taken out, refuse to accept that the policy documentation does not state ANYWHERE that vouchers and restricted cards will be used to pay out claims, and have delayed so long in attending to any of this that TWO installments of my premium have been deducted that are still based on the ****** items being covered! So, two months that they've deducted money for items that were already ******! This is completely ********* and deducting money for things that cannot be covered is *****ulent. As is not disclosing information directly pertaining to claims when that influences whether or not someone chooses that company for their insurance coverage. Each time I bring all of this to their attention, they simply ignore it completely - literally don't address it at all - and keep repeating that they will only pay me the undervalued amounts and only by Takealot vouchers or the claims card that cannot be used in my area. They absolutely, completely, and utterly steadfastly refuse to answer anything that I've queried and the way they just stick their heads in the sand and ignore anything they don't have satisfactory answers for is childish, unprofessional, *********, and entirely unacceptable. If they made a mistake by not including the correct information in the policy documentation and not disclosing vital information at the time of coverage being taken out, then that is their mistake to fix - not the client's to suffer. They cannot withhold information essential to making an informed decision - that is *******.

I want Hollard to pay attention to this and address it themselves because Naked cannot be trusted.

And now Hollard has simply been ignoring me completely for over three weeks. I provided proof that Naked **** about the items used to determine the replacement value of my ****** items (thus downgrading me to pay out less), and since I provided Hollard with that proof (which amounts to ***** and breach of conduct), I have been completely ignored. The policy states that the client will "be restored to the position they were in before the insured event" but then Naked intentionally uses lesser items to determine replacement values in order to shortchange the client - NOT restoring them but lessening them instead. This is a highly ********* practice and completely in violation of the code of conduct and regulations by which they operate. Kindly don't ignore me now that I provided proof of underhanded practices by Naked as you are responsible for their actions and behaviour.
