Our flights on Egyptair were delayed and we missed our connection flight and then had to buy new tickets for the missed flight. We tried to claim from Hollard but the claim was rejected. The reason that Egyptair gave for the delay was "unplanned operational reasons". But this was not acceptable for Hollard, since this type of delay is not covered. It clearly states on the policy document pages 41 and 42 under heading WHAT WE PAY point 2.4: Missed flight or cruise: Flight or cruise arrives 1H+ later than scheduled - 2.4.1 the additional airfare and accommodation you paid for in order for you to travel to your booked destination by the most direct alternative route. Our flight was delayed for 195 minutes. WILL NEVER USE THIS TRAVEL INSURANCE AGAIN.
