Operation Deceptive

On 5 July 2019 APPROX 16h55, I was involved in a motor-vehicle accident on my way home to Benoni from Germiston, it was reported to my insurance and they asked me to get a quote to repair the car, I drive a 2011 BMW i25i coupe and I took the vehicle to AUTOBAHN BMW ARC. The quote amounted to R58,583.78.

On 2019/08/20 11:29, my insurance brokers (MRA BROKERS) sent me an email saying that authorisation has been given to BMW to repair my car. I contacted them to ask why the vehicle has not been written off since I got an estimate of R80,000 value on my car about two-three months prior the accident. They informed me that they look at the book value which is R180,000. When I asked why no assessor has been sent out to my vehicle to asses the condition of the car, they could not give me a straight answer.

Then I got a call from BMW saying that they have been in contact with my insurance (Hollard) and they want to fit 2nd hand parts and generic parts on my car. BMW rep**** saying under no circumstances will they allow it since it is against their policy.

Until today I have not received any feedback as to why my vehicle is not written off since my car IS NOT worth R180,000; Secondly they said to BMW we will then send the car to a non authorised dealer to fit second hand parts, they want to do this because it will cost cheaper, therefore no write-off.
