Insurance claim rejected

On 23rd April 2019 we had a massive storm in KZN. I had a bank that collapsed behind my house, and small boundary wall fell over. Today after more than a month of fighting to get feedback: Soil/clay behind the house - payout OK (small amount, but OK) Blocked drains - payout OK, BUT I advised them the drains are fine. No damage, so no need to pay out - Accepted and immediately taken off the payout (-R2500). Small boundary wall: Rejected, because no engineering papers, not builded to regulations (according to assessor). Now the problem: 1. When I bought the house, the wall was already there. 2. If the soil collapse more, where the wall was, the border fence will collapse and will need to be replaced at even higher cost. 3. I did the right and honest thing to inform you that the reported blocked drains was in fact not damaged by the soil/clay/storm, which saved you.

I could have kept quiet, and used the 'drain money' to fix the boundary wall, but I believe in true and honest business.
