Insurance

I need advice please... I have insured my TV for R10 000.00 It blew up the insurance do not want to replace for the amount of R10 000.00 even though I have noted my insurance is for replacement value... Now they want me to buy something far cheaper and specifically because it is on sale - so are rushing me to buy now because the sale ends tomorrow 14 Feb - is this ethical? Can they do this? Second part of my question - shouldn't they buy the TV and deliver it my house? Your advice would be appreciated

Finally an answer!
Thank You!!

I understand the depreciation part
What I do not understand is that the original TV cost R10 000 - you note ...
then we are placing you in the same position you were in prior to the loss..... the current TV does not cost R10 000 - in fact only R4500 nor is it the top of the range like the previous tv...

As noted - In the insurance inventory - we noted that the tv replacement cost is R24 000.00 - why then does one do an inventory AND include replacement cost please?
Regards
Sharon
