Hollard red-tape time game
I can not even begin to express my utmost dissapointment at Hollard funeral services. My mother had my late father (who passed 3 days ago) as a beneficiary on a funeral cover. Upon signing up, my mother was informed that the waiting period is 6 months. She was not informed of any other. Now when going to claim we are being sent pillar to post in what seems like a clear effort to dismiss the claim. First we were informed that we we had not passed the 6 months waiting period. Once we disputed this we were then informed that waiting period for natural causes death is 12 months. The first we heard of it. Then given a medical form that needs to be completed by a medical practitioner. The medication practitioner informed that he cannot fill out the forms as he is still waiting for medical tests (which were performed at a public hospital). God knows how long that would take. We were also informed that someone from head office would call us back. We are still waiting. As we speak, we are incurring costs for my Iate fathers' storage. Funeral plans have been halted because our documents have not been processed nevermind any word of a payment. Hollard promises peace of mind in the event of death and instead we are sent pillar to post with red tape and documents while time goes by. I would never recommend anyone to purchase any of your insurance policies and we will be canceling the one we have currently as soon as the funeral has passed.
