Excuse not to pay claim

Hollard has repudiated my claim of a roof that started to leak and caused thousands or rands worth of damage because of..... wear and tear on the roof.. what story.. They still cant tell me the exact cause of the problem, only guessing. I have asked the ombudsman for help and recieved their letter today 5 months later closing the matter and accepting the insurers version of the wear and tear and redudiation. also suggesting that i see an attorney. As we are all aware that the ombudsman is paid by the insurance company and obviously dont really care

Its probably cheaper to repair the roof than pay an attorney. I relate your repuiation in the same sense that had my vehicle been insured by your company and a steering part broke causing an accident ,it would have the same result..Wear and tear.. have you checked your roof for wear and tear and how many times a year do you check it.. absolute bull and a way of not paying the claim.. if its so called wear and tear i suggest that you inform your clients of the criteria in the future . thank you for your advice even though it took 5 months for the ombudsman to come back to me after numerous letters and unsuccessful phone calls really makes me wonder. Never again Hollard
