BAD SERVICE FROM ASSESSNET AND LEGACY

My vehicle was damaged in an accident and the assessor didn't approve my vehicle's computer box which got damaged in the accident. It has been two months now to get Hollard to approve my claim. Ford Silverlakes did send them a full report with a photo but still declined my claim. I have been with Hollard for more than 20 years and the problem started when my broker joined Legacy. My advice to all looking for insurance, please stay away from Hollard who is now using the broker firm Legacy. They have treated me as a long customer of Hollard like a *****.

Good day, Please read the emails I published to get all the details - below are the latest emails:

Hi Gavin,
Thank you for your email response below.
I, however, still don’t agree with your argument – You cannot extract one sentence and base your whole “defence” on that.
Please see an extract of my email below on 08-11-2023 where I explained and all the other emails I attached for your perusal.
You must be objective and make decisions after considering all the facts.
Summary of why I don’t agree with your argument:
1. The vehicle was in perfect working mechanical condition when I left it at Pro Beat
2. I drove the car for ±2 weeks, every day, before I brought it to Pro Beat without any problems, except for the ONE time after the accident and NO problems further during this ±2 weeks
3. Your “proof” that the vehicle came in with a damaged computer box, unfortunately, does not carry any weight as there are no DATE AND TIME STAMPS on your photo when you took the photos
Please between you and the insurance company, something must be done as I have no share in what happened to my vehicle.

Good day Rico,
That I cannot explain – I did however point the damage out to Gavin from Pro Beat that I never saw that damage before and noticed it immediately on the 1st day I went to fetch the vehicle and it didn’t want to start.
The vehicle did the same once after the accident. I don’t know if something happened in their workshop.
I would have noticed the damage before as I once a week checked my vehicle oil and water levels.
Please see below a summary of the events:
· The said vehicle was driven by myself to Pro Beat Auto for scratches on the left side and was approved by the insurance
· When I delivered the vehicle to Pro Beat Auto, there was nothing wrong with the vehicle starting
· One of the Pro Beat Panel beater's personnel started the vehicle and drove it into the workshop
· As per my email below, the vehicle did not start on one occasion, straight after the accident
· I, however, drove the vehicle for ±2 weeks after the accident, waiting for insurance approval to take the vehicle to Pro Beat Auto
· During these ±2 weeks, I experienced NO problems with the starting of the vehicle
· I told the assessor about this problem and he said it had nothing to do with the accident
· My question is what qualifies the assessor to assume that the non-starting had nothing to do with the accident, without even looking?
· Is he a qualified Mechanical Engineer to make such a crucial decision?
· We all know that today’s vehicles are full of electronics and a little bump can trigger something electronically to go wrong
· The day we were supposed to fetch the vehicle from Pro Beat Auto, the vehicle all of a sudden didn’t want to start
· Pro Beat Auto assured us the vehicle was always starting whilst myself, my wife and my daughter were not there
· It only started when Pro Beat Auto moved the vehicle around
· I explained to them what I did on the one occasion, after the accident, what I did which I heard from a motor mechanic
· Pro Beat Auto then got electricians in, at their premises to look at the vehicle and their diagnostics were that the keys needed recoding
· Pro Beat Auto then took the vehicle to Ford Silverlakes and their diagnostics were that the vehicle needed a new computer box
· The vehicle is still at Ford Silverlakes at the writing of this email
· If you insert the key in the ignition and turn the key, all the dashboard lights come on as normal
· The problem is that nothing happens afterwards
· In the photo Gavin sent, you cannot see the dent on the computer box
· I'm not a mechanic/electrician, but my common sense tells me that not even the dashboard lights will come on when the computer box is faulty or that the keys need recoding
· All this can be confirmed with Gavin from Pro Beat Auto
With the above being said, I request Hollard to repair my vehicle, with whatever is still wrong with it, to be in the same mechanical condition as it was before the accident – It seems nobody knows what is wrong and I have to pay for it out of my pocket.
This is not on as everything started going wrong since the accident.
Please assist urgently as I need the vehicle to get to work.”
Kind Regards,

Good day
The email correspondence below refers:
We acknowledge that the car became troublesome after the accident and this was communicated to the assessor.”
Now you changing the story and saying the following:
“This proves that the computer box got damaged in the Pro Beat workshop as there was nothing wrong with the car before I took it into Pro Beat.
@ Libby Malherbe,
I hope all is well on your side.
We have proof that the vehicle came in with the damaged control unit. (See attached photo.) – THIS IS NO PROOF AS THERE ARE NO DATE & TIME STAMPS ON YOUR PHOTOS (JLC)
Please read through the attached emails between me and Mr Coetzee. Then you will understand what’s going on here. – WE ALL KNOW I LEFT MY VEHICLE IN PERFECT MECHANICAL CONDITION WHEN I LEFT IT AT PRO BEAT AND FOUND IT TO BE FAULTY AFTER PRO BEAT WORKED ON IT (JLC)
I have discussed this with my director and we will not take responsibility for this. – PLEASE SEE ALL THE EMAILS ATTACHED FOR YOUR DIRECTOR AS HE ONLY KNOWS YOUR SIDE AND LET HIM MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION (JLC)
Any queries please contact me.
Thank you

Hi Libby,
The emails below refer to.
Any Feedback??
The Ford Figo is 100% after I replaced the computer box at Ford Silverlakes at my own expense.
This proves that the computer box got damaged in the Pro Beat workshop as there was nothing wrong with the car before I took it into Pro Beat.
Please arrange for this matter to be settled and closed now - The computer box was not part of the scratches Pro Beat fixed, but it got damaged whilst in their care.
There is damage and I don't agree that it is my fault.
Regards,
Leon Coetzee

Hi Libby,
Thank you for your feedback, but I do not agree with your email below.
Here is why:
1. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of the engine compartment:
§ Firstly, you do not have photos of the engine compartment because the Hollard assessor, from Assessnet, Stefan Putter, did not take photos of the engine compartment
§ Secondly, Gavin from Pro Beat did not take photos of the car in my presence and the photo he sent later could have been taken after I pointed out the dent on the computer box to him
§ Thirdly, The is NO date or time stamp on the photo – This does not prove that the computer box was damaged when I took the car to Pro Beat
§ This means that all the parties didn’t do their jobs as they should and because of that I am now responsible for their neglect
§ As I said in all our correspondence, there was nothing wrong with the computer box when I left it at Pro Beat
§ Assessnet, Pro Beat and Hollard can you give any proof that the computer box was damaged before I left my car at Pro Beat
2. As advised your fight is with Pro Beat as the damaged module was not caused by any of the three accidents:
§ Jacobsohn & Mellet are my brokers – Is that correct?
§ I pay Jacobsohn & Mellet monthly a brokerage fee to act and handle all my claims – Is that correct?
§ Now, HOW can you tell me that my “fight” is with Pro Beat?
§ You must act on my behalf as your client for over twenty years and ensure I do not get ********** as mentioned in #1 above
§ Liked I mentioned in all our previous correspondence, the damage must have happened in the Pro Beat workshop and there are no proof photos to prove otherwise as there are NO date and time stamps on their photos
§ Without any proof that my computer box had been damaged before I took it to Pro Beat, I expect my brokers to arrange with the insurance for a refund for the money spent on fixing my car
3. May I ask that you please retract your Hello Peter report against Hollard (Legacy) and AssessNet as neither of them is to blame for the current situation:
§ Firstly, at this point, I can not find any reason to retract my statements on Hello Peter, as I am R13,000.00 out of pocket of NO fault of my own
§ Secondly, it was not that Steyn and I grew up together and are friends, I would have complained about Jacobsohn & Mellet on Hello Peter as well
§ I hope it will not get to the point that I have to put Jacobsohn & Mellet on Hello Peter as well
§ I am going to put Pro Beat on Hello Peter, showing all our email correspondence, including this one, so that the public out there be aware of what is happening when they take their vehicle(s) to Pro Beat
My record with Jacobsohn & Mellet and Hollard over the past ±20 years should be proof enough that I do not take chances and/or try to de***** the insurance company – I know there are people out there taking chances, but I’m not one of them.
Libby, I hope I made it clear my stance on this situation and that I am not going to back off until I get my money back – I don’t like paying that kind of money if it is not my fault.
Please call me if you need clarification or more info.
I urgently await your response and I thank you in advance.
Kind Regards,

Hi Libby,
Dit gaan oor die Figo se computer box wat beskadig is by die panel eaters en ek moet nou betaal daarvoor.
Na 22 jaar by Hollard is dit onaanvaarbaar en ek oorweeg ander vesekering.
Sal jou laat weet.
