Unsolicited credit enquiries

I have been trying to get a hold of Hippo for a number of months with no success. This pertains to various unsolicited enquiries being done by one of the leading insurers. Over the last three years, numerous credit enquiries were done on my credit profile. When this was raised with the company, my emails were blocked and they refused to provide any feedback regarding the issues raised. I was advised that these enquiries were as a result of me using the Hippo website which was never done by myself. The company then provided an excerpt from a report which they apparently got from Hippo. What is suspicious is that the IP addresses that was used, was that of my former employer and it would have been impossible to access this IP address as I had already exited the company. My former employer then confirmed that the IP address provided was not longer valid as they had changed internet service providers. When this specific insurance company was asked to provide the details of the person at Hippo that had provided the information for me to validate the report that was provided, they refused to do so. Which begs the question, was the report provided authentic? Further to this, the company sought legal counsel in an effort to protect themselves. This was all very simple, provide the details for Hippo for me to validate the report that was sent. This is a last attempt at making contact with Hippo. Should I not get the courtesy of a response, I will have no alternative but open a case of ID ***** to ensure that my personal information is not being used without my consent!
