Forget It - Call Insurers Directly Or Face Non-Stop Stop Spam Calls

I used Hippo to obtain quotes from car insurers to get quotes on a car for my daughter - she's the driver, I'm paying for it. Here are two reasons why no one should never use Hippo for car insurance quotes: 1) Viewing Results - detailed info is required - no problem with that, it takes time to get full and correct info for a quote. After completing it I was presented with a screen of several options. I clicked one to obtain to ask for more information - but then could not return back to results - that was the end of the process. In order to get the results for other quotes I had to submit all the information AGAIN! I did it twice, then thought forget it.... 2) The SPAM CALLS - these have not stopped, even from insurers that provided a quote I did not want to follow up on (for example 1st For Women) ! We are talking 20+ calls in a day from multiple numbers from multiple insurers. I even got a call from the insurer (Dial Direct) that I ended up using! They were apologetic for following up on a lead that had already been turned in to a policy. Clearly Hippo are passing on the contact details to all companies, even if I did not want to follow up on their quotation. I called Dial Direct by myself two days later and ended up with a quote that was R80/month lower than the one from Hippo anyway - with the SAME information (3rd time for providing it) Get a good call blocker app if you use Hippo - you will need it to add the non-stop numbers that pester you afterwards.
