Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

A year ago I wrote this review below and got a response from Hippo saying that it would be sorted out. But still to this day, every few weeks I get a mail thanking me for my request for quotes (what request?), and then I get spammed non-stop by insurance companies. Worst mistake I made was using Hippo.co.za once three years ago. Avoid trying to find quotes through them at all costs!

Today I received this random email below from Hippo.co.za. I never sent them a request for quotes nor did I express any interest in 1st for Women Flexible Excess. The last time I requested comparative quotes from Hippo was at least two years ago. This is the second email I have now received from Hippo in the last month and I have been getting spammed with calls from insurance companies for weeks. Sick of it! To Hippo, please refrain from emailing, calling and harassing me! You've made the right choice by using Hippo.co.za so that you can compare & save on your Car Insurance Please note that the quote provided is an estimate only. We have successfully notified 1st for Women Flexible Excess that you're interested in their quote and you will hear directly from them soon. Please note that the call will be during their call centre working hours, typically between 8am and 7pm, on workdays.

Hi Helen, we're sorry you've had such a horrible experience. We're investigating your case, but in the meantime we have removed your details from our contact list and asked First for Women to do that same.
