Hi-Tec Warrior - A light boot but NOT a trail running shoe.

I bought a pair of Hi-Tec Warriors from Shoe City in Lydenburg yesterday and took them for a quick 8km test run this morning. These shoes are marketed as 'trail' but they are really not running shoes.

The soles are hard, not much better than cheap canvas leisure shoes. The left shoe feels smaller than the right and hurts my toes. They'll be OK for hiking and the garden but please don't consider them for trail running.

I think they're quite expensive for what they are. I would have much rather paid acouple of hundred extra Rand and bought another pair of Asics Frequent Trail.

I did try get more information on the Hi-Tec website but it kept flooding my screen with a subscribe form that wouldn't go away. I have no intention of subscribing nor of buying another pair of Hi-Tecs after this.

I am not looking to gain anything from this. I am simply try to warn trail runners not to buy 'Warriors' as they are not what Hi-Tec claim them to be.
