Herotel? you mean ZEROTEL.
Herotel has quickly become the most unreliable and shameful internet service provider in South Africa.
My parents live in the Karoo and every single time I am home for a visit, I have to witness the shocking service they are expected to just accept from Zerotel.
Not only are they completely inconsistent, but their speeds are non-existent, clocking in well under 1mbp. This, while they are expected to pay in full for their 6mbp package and then still have to spend R100's on data because they cant use the pathetic internet that they are still expected to pay for.
I have lost count of how many times we have logged a complaint in the last 2 weeks, sometimes multiple times a day and we are always met with the same generic response, or some clown on their social media pages who lacks any skill in basic customer service that comes with a snarky response.
They do not care about their customers at all and all they care about is making sure their debit orders come off. Customer service and satisfaction is not a priority and this is evident from the many, many complaints against them all over social media dating back years. This is even more concerning as it literally means that they dont care as they havent bothered to sort out their technical issues.
At what point do we as consumers have our rights protected and heard? We are suppose to be protected by the consumer protection act, but these ********* companies do not seem to care at all. Will they only start delivering the service we are paying for ones we get the ombudsman involved?
I will be escalating this further, as I have now had enough of seeing my parent frustrated and dissapointed. They are pensioners who do not deserve to have their money flushed down the toilet by a company that doesnt care.
