Herotel are anything but Hero's

"Hero"Tel is a complete misnomer for this telcom giant of monumental inefficiency and ineptitude. you will go down to your nearest office where you will be impressed with the bright color of their offices and vehicles. there will be maybe one if you are lucky two people in the office that can help you. they will complete forms with you take all the necessary information and you will pay mid month for the full month and if you are lucky enough to have their equipment already installed at your premises will be told that they will generously waive the connection fee and that you should be up and running within a few days. you will be asked for your details as to the name and chosen password and low and behold will actually be switched on within the two day period with YOUR chosen username and password. You will then revel in the lightening speed of satellite to fiber 10 megs at R999 per month which you have paid. BUT!!! Don't hold your breath because then out of the blue one of their brightly colored vehicles will pull up in your drive way a week later and ask your unsuspecting self how they access the roof, nope no explanation or reason given and you will assume that they are there for an upgrade or service to your equipment and without warning will see the tail end of their vehicle heading rapidly down the road with your paid for subscription and pre installed equipment in their possession being left behind scratching your head as to the sudden disappearance of the dish that was there a few minutes back and why you can no longer send that crucial email late on the Friday afternoon after they have just left that needed to go out urgently, don't worry about the work zoom meeting due in 15 minutes. your partner will return from business the next day needing to be back in touch with his office to finalize some business matters and he will spend time on the phone on two occasions after being promised a senior manager or the field manger will get right back to him regarding and explanation. again, don't hold your breath the field manager wont call you nor will anyone else in management or able to give you a reason you had the prepaid , pre installed service removed. the last person you will then speak to will tell you proudly that you have been rescheduled for re installation 3 days from today stating that the equipment was installed for the previous occupier of the address who has left and which was discussed and changed when you first went into the office. don't bother asking for a refund or pro rata apportionment of the payment, don't bother asking for a manager to call you and don't bother calling back again because all you will hear is dead silence to the simple question as to how you can go and remove the equipment from some ones roof after they have paid you, without telling anyone that that is the reason they are there so that it can be immediately resolved with the person manning the phone line in their support "section" and don't try to figure out why they would remove the equipment only to return several days later to have to RE INSTALL the same equipment!! if you have ANY and i do mean ANY other service provider options rather walk around the corner to their friendly office where their branch manger will call around, make the effort understand the urgency of the installation for those of you who now work remotely and use their service because chances are if you use these guys you will be writing your own reviews here.
