Helluvaslow motorcycle repair shop and a terrible experience!
As a 70 year old biker, I put my trust in "Helluvafast" to perform a major service and COR on my Goldwing 1100, on 26/10/20. Many countless phone calls and visits to the workshop, were made because weeks were passing and the bike hadn't received its service? Not until 7/12/20. six weeks later, was my bike ready for collection? This must be a record for a simple major service/repairs?
Helmut's ridiculous excuses of waiting for parts does not hold water, as Bikers Warehouse in Jo'burg carries every part for Goldwings, so I'm informed.
Whatever, after collection, the bike was overheating, rear brake was useless, an oil leak from water pump housing was evident, bike wouldn't start when hot, and indicators were faulty. And the bike strangely passed a R1200 COR? Total cost for service and repairs a questionable R14000?
Bike taken back to workshop on 6/1/21for rectification. By 25/1/21, the bike hadn't been touched, just gaining rust outside the shop? Not willing to wait another six weeks (or more). I politely called Helmut to clarify progress, only to receive demented ranting and ravings of how unreasonable I was? His excuse being he was waiting on a radiator pressure cap? When asked if the leak and starter-motor had been repaired, he angrily admitted they hadn't?
The man had a habit of blaming parts for his pathetic excuses, lies in real terms. This last conversation with him instructed me to collect the bike for, possibly, he was fed up with me catching him out on so many lame untruths he taxed my intelligence with. I'm a retired mechanical engineer.
You may imagine how confused I am, when reading so many favourable reports concerning their dealings with Helmut? However, the man's a cold-hearted chancer in my considered estimation, who callously rips off pensioners, and possibly others with a smile. Who knows? Maybe, I'm a one off?
Take my criticism as you will, for I merely expressed my experiences to warn others that behind a false persona may lurk a Jekyll and Hyde! I truly wish this report were not necessary, to join others in posting a praiseworthy accolade, unfortunately, the facts speak volumes.
Hopefully, Helmut will reply to this posting to, somehow, justify his actions, for I will then give a more detailed report on this issue to further substantiate my claims? Who knows. he may even apologise and make good his regrettable repairs/service'? Not holding my breath...
