Is Facebook membership required in order to comment on hellopeter.com ?

Good evening, whilst browsing the hellopeter.com website I wanted to comment and support someones post. In order to do so I needed to open a user account with hellopeter, which is fair enough and which I duly did.

However, even though I am now registered with hellopeter.com the website is still forcing me to log on via a Facebook account in order to accept my comment. I am not a Facebook member so my question is : Do I need to have a Facebook account in order to comment on someone's post on hellopeter.com, or am I missing something ?
