Haviannas return policy doesnt mean anything

Havaianas have a 6 months replacement warranty policy. I returned my sandals after less than a month (after one sandal strap broke at the toe) and I was told they would be replacing them as this was due to wear and tear. This is outrageous as I only wore the shoes for less than a month, and surely and damage cannot be deemed wear and tear. It seems Haviannas' replacement warranty is merely just window dressing and doesn't stand or anything as this is a common complaint I wont be purchasing any more Haviannas in the future
