Havaianas not conducive to south african climate or simply badly made product

I had brought a pair of Havaianas last year and within a few months the middle section of the sandal snapped. I called their stores and the staff graciously replaced the pair for me. However as we went into lockdown, the new pair broke at the same place and I called the Cavendish store as lockdown eased and their stores opened and the manager there ( a gentleman) informed me that I could exchange the sandals and that he also would keep the exact same pair for me. I sent my husband along to simply exchange, but there was a very unfriendly "muslim lady" at the counter who inspected the flips and decided that it was tampered with and refused to exchange the flips. My husband called from the store to inform me and I explained to her that my husband's flip flops also broke at this very same spot and he had used superglue to fix his shoes and it had somehow remained in place. He tried to fix mine without telling me. My argument is that these flip flops were still brand new and should not have broken and it was still under guarantee. Even if my husband tried to fix it the sandals, I feel the store's policy is dishonest with regards to a product set to fail within a short period anyway. I have decided that I will never ever buy a pair of havaianas again simply because they are too expensive for a sandal that last for just about a month. Their product does now not even come close to Pick 'n Pay's flip flops which is dirt cheap and you simply don't mind if it last just for a month. However in saying that I still have a pair of Pick 'n Pay flip flops which is a couple of years old now.
