Disappointing quality

I have been wearing Havaianas for 15 years and still own the first pairs I bought. However, every pair that I have bought in the last 5 years have failed after I'd only worn them a couple of times. The toe piece pull through the sole and will not stay in place, a problem often referred to as a "blow out". I have contacted Havaianas South Africa via email and was given a standard PR response about warranty expirations and the like. A quick web search brought up many, many complaints and news articles on this issue. The point is that there is a massive quality control failure with these shoes and although they still charge for a premium product, it definitely isn't. Selling a product that you realize full well is defective is tantamount to *****. I will not be buying Havaianas again.
