UNPLEASANT SERVICE
Dear Hatfield VW Rivonia,
Kindly note the following letter as my dissatisfaction with your service with regards to a financed vehicle purchased from Hatfield VW Rivonia. I purchased a Suzuki Swift 1.2 GA and the deal was closed on the 9th of January 2024, the vehicle was delivered to me on the 11th of January 2024.
On the day of delivery I immediately reported my dissatisfaction, the car came to me on an empty tank and this was to my suprise because an amount of R12 000 is added as delivery fees to the overall cost of the car, yet the car comes with an empty tank? The car has a 37 liter tank that fills up with about R850. I mean besides the delivery fees being so high, is it not common courtesy for the retailer to deliver the car with a full tank, could the driver not have topped the car up before delivery ?
The second issue I reported on the same day was the fact that the car had no rear floor matts, I reported this on the same day, it has been almost a month later and I still have not received the floor matts. The sales agent has been ordering the matts for close to a month now, in the meanwhile the mud, sand and stones are being stepped onto the car's naked floor.
Thirdly the front passenger speaker does not work, I reported this as soon as I found out, it was about two days from delivery. The salesperson told me to take the car to have it fixed, which is easy in Johannesburg, but I live in a remote area in the Northern-Cape, the closest Suzuki or VW dealership is about 200km, in Kimberley Northern-Cape. Kindly advise?
Furthermore when I took the car to the traffic department, they did not find the car's engine number on their database, they told me the car has not been through the test yet. This was a huge frustration on top of everything mentioned above. A "Mr Neil" from Hatfield Rivonia VW called me and assured me that the car has been through the test and that he would get the papers proving that to me, I waited the whole day for that those papers, it has been a week later and I am still waiting. The next day he conveniently called and asked me to take the car through the test myself and I would be reimbursed. I did this and on Friday 2 February 2024, I spend a total of R1100 getting the car through the test, registering the car, getting my license disk and number plates. I have attached all evidence and proof of payments and fowarded them to *** on Friday 2 February 2024. Today is the 8th of February, I still have not received any reimbur*****t for this and tomorrow would be a week later. The onus is on me daily to make contact and ask for updates etc.
I wrote them this email on the 8th of February, still have not received a reply.
