MISREPRESENTATION BY DEALERSHIP
Yesterday, 24/8/2020 i came to Hatfield Vw for a problem with my VW Polo, i have just relocated back to SA from USA. I spoke to Llewelyn Britts, and he told me to bring my car down into service area, JJ the mechanic put my car on the computer and diagnosed the fault as a short in the wiper motor and suggested it would be about 4500 Rand . I came back today to set up an appointment with VW and spoke to LLEWELLYN, and he told me the cost would be 15000 plus labor and there would be a diagnostic charge too.
Pretty crazy stuff I’d say. I left with my tail between my legs and will never return to Hatfield, ID suggest you get an estimate in writing before you left them touch your car.

28 Aug 2020, 10:14HI Brian. Sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. As per multiple conversations from the dealer the vehicle needs to come in to the dealership to do a full diagnosis on the wiper system. Please feel free to book your vehicle for a full diagnostic check and failure report. Regards VW Melrose.
