Terrible service - Stay away if at all possible
Dealing with Harcourts in Louis Trichardt is an absolute nightmare, the rent is always paid but 1.5 years later we are still struggling to get a gate motor fixed at the property being rented. Don't deal with these people if you can help it.

29 Jun 2023, 12:25Hi Brendan, we have tried to call you numerous times, without success. We have investigated this matter, and the office did send out a technician to test the gate motor, which he found no fault with, and the gate motor is functioning. Your lease agreement clearly states that it is the tenant's responsibility to replace the gate motor battery. The owner is not willing to continue to replace the battery, and it is his decision to do so. The agent is not responsible for his decision. The services provided by the Agent and the Harcourts Limitless office was done in a professional and ethical manner.

29 Jun 2023, 13:01Hi Jenny
And therein lies the problem, the owner has not been replacing the battery WE have been doing so at our own cost, each night the battery has to be removed and charged externally. All we wanted was for a technician to come and have a look at the gate motor and see why the battery is not being charged by the unit itself - furthermore we did not see or hear from this alleged technician that has assessed the gate and had they made a time and appointment (anything other than that is trespassing) we could have told them that the issue lies in the charging mechanism.
This would then speak to the ethics and professionalism aspect of Harcourts dealing with the matter - the 'facts' listed above are inaccurate, no proper times were communicated by your agent for this alleged 'technician' who failed to arrive on multiple occasions according to your agent.
The above has led to a breakdown in communication between the landlord, Harcourts and ourselves. All for what is presumably a faulty charging mechanism in the motor. Not very professional if you ask me...
