Increase of rent after agreement

We verbally agreed with the landlord on a rental amount, via Harcourts. Subsequently the landlord went back on her word and increased the rent before signing the lease. This put us in a very bad spot as we have already organised moving dates with both the moving company and the landlord.<br> <br> The landlord is aware of us having to move across country and it feels as the landlord via Harcourts is trying to squeeze us to pay more. Harcourts may not have been the person increasing the rent, but surely once a verbal agreement was accepted, Harcourts should ensure its clients (the landlord) are acceptable clients that they want to represent. I would not do business with Harcourts until they have sorted their portfolio out.
