HARCOURTS: WITHHOLDING DEPOSIT + NOT DOING THEIR WORK TO FIND ANOTHER TENANT

Dear WHOEVER this concern...I am so tired of Harcourts!!! We resided in Kogelberg, it was a newly build place, the tap in the kitchen came of, the curtain railings came out of the wall, the paint that they claim is so "expensive" chipped. We were held liable FOR ALL OF THOSE COSTS! They ***** people's money and benefit out of it, I was supposed to get R17 000 from my deposit and they only paid our R6000????? According to the quote it cost: (keep in mind this is a 70m^2 duplex):R690 for a call out fee; R2530 to fix a very small chip in a small staircase; R1100 to fix a curtain railing that they did not install correctly in the first place and apparently the rest is for the "VERY expensive" paint that they use. They also charged me a fee of R1 700 for the spare room. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW HARCOURTS ARE ALLOWED TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!! From the moment we gave our notice (3 months) they did not even try to help, or find another tenant, and kept us liable, an attitude of sorry it's just not our problem...they just don't care about their clients and their needs, it felt as if they wanted me to lose my deposit. DO not touch anything from Harcourts!!!
