Harcourts Lifestyle Midrand – ********* and Unprofessional Experience

I am just being polite to express such ********* business practice, and I am sure I am not the only one who has had such a terrible experience.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Harcourts Lifestyle in Midrand, who acted as the rental agent for my property. My experience with them has been both ********* and unprofessional, and I feel compelled to warn other landlords and anyone wanting to rent through them.

When my tenant vacated the property, Harcourts used part of the rental deposit to carry out repairs. However, they kept the remaining balance and failed to account for how the rest of the deposit was used. I ended up fixing most of the outstanding issues myself, because the contractor they appointed did not complete the majority of the work identified in the exit inspection.

To verify what happened to the deposit, I contacted the former tenant. He confirmed that he did not receive any refund, which means Harcourts cannot claim the money was paid out to him. This raises serious concerns about how they handled the deposit funds.

I escalated the matter to both the franchise manager and the franchisor as I was communicating my disappointment of their ********* business practice and outstanding issues, but neither responded. The lack of accountability and transparency is unacceptable, especially from a company that claims to uphold professional standards.

My experience with Harcourts Lifestyle Midrand has been deeply disappointing. Their conduct reflects poor service, lack of communication, and ********* business practices. I would strongly caution any landlord considering using them as an agent.

Hi Musa, I am sorry to hear you did not have a great experience with Harcourts Lifestyle, during the time that they managed your property. I have however noticed that there have been consistent communications between yourself and the Rentals Manager dating back to 9 January 2026. The reason I am aware of these communications is due to the fact that your last communication was through our ticketing support system. I have been informed that the tenant has moved out and the property has already been sold however, I will forward this Hellopeter Review to the office to give them an opportunity to respond.

Kind regards,
Esme Colby
