Harcourts - Distasteful Agent with a Terrible Attitude

I dealt with an agent named Debbie du Toit who was quite rude and insolent. I scheduled a viewing with her for an apartment I had seen on property24 and only realised upon searching for the address of the apartment (despite her having confirmed she had sent same, when she did not in fact) which entailed searching through all the no-reply emails from property24. Upon reading the property description I noted that the listing was for single females only which was not what I was looking for. I immediately attempted to call Debbie at her offices and was told by the receptionist that she was on another call and to try her cell. I attempted her cell to which she did not answer. I then sent a message to her informing her that it had just come to my attention that the listing was not what I was looking for and I proceeded to ask her if she had any that would accomodate a couple. Debbie did not respond. 34min later, despite the message directly above her very own that she was in process of typing, Debbie ignores my message and sends me a text asking me how far I am. This I find to be quite rude and presumptuous especially considering the fact that there is a message clearly reflected above that notes that the listing is not what I am looking for. Despite this I proceed to inform Debbie of this in another message to which she responds that "next time I should have the decency to say if I will not show up to an appointment". It is this attitude that I take issue with. I take issue with the fact that your agents are unaware that they are there to provide a service to not only the landlord but the to the potential tenant. I take issue with the fact that Debbie cannot address a client with respect and her immediate go to is to assume my character despite being informed before time that the listing was not appropriate.

It should not be common practice for any agent in your organisation to think that they can speak to any client/potential tenant in that manner especially considering that there were numerous attempts to alert her to my specifications and there are many listings managed by the Harcourts however I now will NEVER seek any property for renting or for purchase from an agency that has agents that have not been trained in the proper decorum of handling tenants.
