Gumtree will lose millions soon if they allow this
Gumtree does not punish people whom does not adhere to their policies.<br> <br> Why must we pay around R10 000 monthly on enhanced listings if someone else pays nothing and repeats the same listings regularly and are allowed duplicate adverts? <br> This particular user does not pay for enhanced listings and gumtree does nothing about it. We have alerted them numerous times as to this modus operandi, yet they simply delete a few adverts, allowing the user to carry on like this. <br> <br> Failure in removing such users whom continuously breach terms, will lead to us and millions others to rather advertise via enhanced listings on other platforms such as iol, olx,trovit, and many other platforms where policies are adhered to and strictly monitored.<br> <br> It makes no sense in paying for enhanced listings any more on gumtree , since that page 1 enhanced listing means nothing when users are allowed to duplicate/triplicate listings frequently. Of course their listings stay on the first page or 2 at any given time too...<br> <br> Decibel_Audio_&_Accessories has breached the same t&c far too long to get away with it..<br> see listings e.g:*** ,***, ***,***,***. there are many more......
We are sorry to hear that you feel that way.
However, we have asked you previously to keep in mind that we do not aim to overly police the site making it near impossible for users to post. I can understand that you may be frustrated by some of the actions or strategies of your competitors on the site. However, just because a user has made some violations in the past, does not mean that they get blocked. We do believe in giving people a second chance and with some users it may take a few mistakes for them to really get into compliance with our policies.
Please keep in mind that Gumtree aims to keep a friendly atmosphere and thus we like to give people a chance as opposed to running them off the site for making a couple of mistakes.
We ask you to kindly keep in mind the spirit of Gumtree and respect that competitors are allowed to post to the site as well.
