Gumtree ********* Business Practices.

I responded to and advert on Gumtree, addressing the advertiser and stating some personal details. I signed off using my full name.

Since then I have been spammed daily by Gumtree using my full name (which they could have only got if they read my response to the advertiser) ‘Thank you for your reply to … on Gumtree. Finding the perfect … is hard, so we thought we’d make it a little easier, by finding these … that we think you might be interested in…’

Firstly: It is ********* business practice to read mail that is not addressed to you! Secondly: Gumtree is diminishing the response for their own advertisers! Thirdly: I never requested Gumtree’s spam or involvement!

Owning a website does not entitle anyone to carte blanche to the information or the right to disrespect.

Hi Bib, thank you for your feedback. You are able to unsubscribe, to any mails you receive from Gumtree. If you can please scroll to the bottom of the email, you should see an option, to choose to 'unsubscribe'. If you are registered, you can go to My Alerts, and switch off alerts.
