Gumtree related Payment and Courier ****
I got an enquiry through Gumtree on an item I was selling and I got a link in WhatsApp to do an automated payment and courier service , the **** then switches the payment received your payment due and then tries to do a false payment of 900 Euros: see below

We really appreciate the time you took to inform us about this case and so sorry to hear of your experience.
As a suggestion, what we can recommend, is that if you please remove your phone number from your Ad, this way, potential buyers are only able to contact you via the Gumtree message system, and from there, you can block them, and report them, and we are also able to take action to try to prevent this from happening again.
The same cannot be said when contact is made via cell phone, out side of Gumtree.
This is only a suggestion however, so if you prefer to leave your phone number in to communicate, please just do be aware of the below:
Any number or user that is not local, or a user who does not want to come and inspect the item for sale, and wants to send a driver, please disregard those replies, as it goes against safety advise, users must be local, and able to meet you face to face in person and exchange cash.
You are welcome to state this in your Ad, that you will only engage in local, face to face cash transaction, and will disregard any replies that do not follow this.

If you entered your banking details, please report this to your bank.
Please let us know if there was money loss, if you report it to your bank they may be able to reverse it?
Please let us know the amount so we can make a report and advise you on how to report this to the police.
