Victimisation
I did not find any of their offers attractive and never used them since joining several years ago. I cancelled my membership on 13 March 2023, paying the outstanding balance and sending proof of payment on the same day to their dept collector. On the 29 March 2023, I received a phone call from an agent saying that I owed them the money that I had already paid. I was also threatened with blacklisting and legal action.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us and we understand how frustrating it can be when things don't go as planned. Please know that we take all feedback seriously and are committed to addressing the issue as best as possible.
We would like to clarify that at Global Travel Alliance, we strictly follow the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 when it comes to cancelling memberships. We are pleased to see that you have paid all your outstanding arrears as required by the Act. However, in line with the regulations, we do have a reasonable cancellation fee that is applicable after the payment of the arrears, which we request you settle as soon as possible.
We will have one of our agents reach out to you shortly to assist with the payment process and ensure that the cancellation is completed smoothly.
We are proud to offer our members exclusive discounted travel deals that cater to their budgets and preferences. Our Personal Travel Agents are experts in their field and provide end-to-end guidance to our members, even during emergencies.

22 May 2023, 12:26Dear valued member,
We agree and confirm that we are compliant with the CPA.
The GTA Membership Agreements are signed in terms of Regulation 5.1 of the CPA Regulations which states that the consumer must agree to a term over and above 2 years if this would be beneficial to the consumer.
Demonstrable benefit can be shown by virtue of the membership being used over a longer period of time as opposed to only 2 years. This allows the members to accumulate the benefit of their membership by using our Personal Travel Agent's expert advice, itinerary and tour services, and discounted travel options over the years.
The GTA membership can be cancelled once arrears are paid up to date in terms of section 14 of the CPA.
Alternative options to cancellation can be taken up which the member to continue having access to their Personal Travel Agent services and rates.
Kind Regards
The Global Travel Team
