POOR COMMUNICATION RUINED A SPECIAL OCCASION

I am extremely disappointed with my booking experience at Grimaldis, Cotswold, Hillcrest.

I originally booked a table for my husband’s birthday on 3 June 2026 because we couldn’t celebrate on his actual birthday which was the 4th of June, however excitedly circumstances changed and I called and rescheduled for the 4th of June. I called and spoke to a staff member, a gentleman whose name started with T(can’t remember his actual name now) who confirmed a reservation for 1:00 PM on 4 June.

On the day, I phoned to confirm the booking and was told the restaurant was closed for a private function and could not honour my reservation. No one contacted me beforehand to advise of this.

As a result, our birthday plans were ruined. With such short notice, we could not secure another suitable restaurant booking and ended up having takeaway instead of the special celebration I had planned.

I appreciate the apology but better communication and reservation management could have prevented this disappointment as we would never be able to celebrate this age again.
