Idling problem 6 months, R5000 and a clueless GWM dealer

<p>I have a 2012 Steed 3 double cab with an idling problem that has been in and out of the GWM dealer for the last 6 months since I purchased the vehicle. At first the car was idling to high between 1500rpm to 3000rpm. I have spoken the previous owner and he had exactly the same problem with the car from brand new. I took the car to two different GWM dealers in Centurion and was eventually convinced in March 2016 to replace the complete throttle body by GWM Hennops Park at a cost of R5000, because a previous GWM dealer only replaced a portion of the electronic idling. This I had to pay upfront before the parts could be ordered. This solved the high idling, but since the replacement a new idling problem started and the car keeps on cutting out every time I stop or as soon as I step on the clutch to decelerate. Furthermore as soon as I switch on the air conditioner in the car the problem gets even worse. In June 2016 when I took the car for its 45000km service I was told that it was because of a blocked filter and that the problem is solved, but it wasn’t. I returned in July 2016 with the same problem and again left the car with the dealer for two days. GWM could still not resolve a simple idling problem, but instead made it worse. Now my car’s fuel consumption has increased with 2 liters per kilometer and started to back fire. I see that I am not the only person that is having this problem and that there is a few GWM owners that has complained on HelloPeter but GWM South Africa is none responsive to their customers pleadings for assistance. And I believe it is time for all to elevate this issue to their head office in China.</p> <p> </p>
