Disappointment in GWM Service
So, I purchased a 2020 GWM Steed 6 (Wingle 6 for my oversees counterparts), and I have mixed emotions about it.
The vehicle is comfortable, and much better priced in our current economic environment than other models offering similar vehicles. However, be aware that you will find yourself with some problems.
from the bat, my automatic rain-sensor randomly came on and then it is pure daylight with no water even remotely close to my vehicle. I asked them to address it, and they said they did. NOW, it does not even work, even if I drive through a storm.
The electronically adjusted seat has a 'play' on it, which will in time wear and tear the frame to a point where it will need a full replacement (Keep in mind the seat motor was replaced even before the vehicle had 500KM on the clock). Now I sit with my vehicle (just over 6000km on the ODO) limping home due to a faulty/incorrectly adjusted DPF sensor (Apparently the same issue in the P-Series) where you can barely reach 2200 RPM, with a lucky 60-80Km/h. BUT you can't take it to any dealership, you have to take it to the place where you purchased it. So Let me limp on a highway and cause hold-ups and even accidents, because GWM's red-tape can't fix a problem on their products.
Disappointed to say the least
I understand you get what you pay for, but then again, be informed of the issues you can expect. Sadly, commitments from different branches to address all these issues where merely empty promises.
