An Evening of Being Ignored

It was my husband and my 2 year wedding anniversary yesterday so I decided to surprise him with dinner on the beach front at the Grand. I made a reservation and told them that it was a special occasion and I wanted a table on the water edge. When we arrived, we were asked where we wanted to sit?! I said that I had specifically booked the waters edge for a special occasion. She warned that it was cold. We got to the table and it was dirty! It was cold and we decided to move after a bit. We moved tables, got menus and waited to be served. And waited... and waited.... struggling to flag down a waiter, we waited for over 1,5 hours!!! We got tired and eventually just left. On the way out, we were thanked for coming! We had been completely ignored the entire evening???? No waiter and no management. We got take aways elsewhere and went home to eat. What a horrible experience! To add to it, we had to pay for baby sitting for the time that we waiting! Never mind making customers feel insignificant, shouldn't a restaurant go the extra mile on a special occasion? Especially one with such expensive food on the menu!
