Horrible experience at the Veuve Clicquot brunch event in Cape Town on the 11- 01- 2026. Tickets were R550. We were promised a Veuve Funday there wasn’t a single Veuve representative to be held accountable, we got one warm glass of Veuve. We were promised a 3 course meal. We were served the “veggitable tempura” which was extremely blend. No salt no nothing just large pieces of broccoli and red pepper dipped in dough thrown into hot oil and served in a very large quantity( I’ve got pictures). Then the main was kingklip fish with mussels also very bland, we tried at add salt nothing helped. My friend ordered to second option which was medium rare steak when her steak arrived it was rock hard. Dessert we went for the cheese cake and ice cream when the ice cream had arrived it had already melted. It didn’t help our waitress was very dismissive when we complained and when we were fed up and wanted to leave our waitress made up wait and additional 20minutes cause she was looking for her manager to sign off on the fact that our meals were already paid for ( we bought the tickets online for the 3 course meals) while all of this is happening one of your male staff members who noticed we were in distress made a comment saying “ we make a lot of money here” basically implying that you guys have more than enough customers therefore our absence won’t be felt even if we decide not to come back, then the cherry on top was on our way out one of the Vueve photographers asked us if we wanted to take pictures infront of the Veuve POS and we declined saying no cause we had a back experience and one guy who claims he runs the Veuve social media ran to us and asked us what happened and why, as I try to explain my experience he speaks over me and says he begs to differ, I didn’t bother going back and forth with him cause I was fed up at that point, mind you it’s an extremely hot day, I just asked him why he even bothered to ask why I’m distressed if he’s gonna dismiss my complaint. This was a very bad experience, as much as it was Jan and pockets were running dry we sacrificed that bit of cash cause we had faith in this concept and it completely backfired
