Booked accommodation with these guys at Del este 7 and in that week my father in law passed on and I told them about it and they said it's fine I can book again, so about 2 weeks later the lady calls asking when am I booking I said you know I can't at this time cos in our culture we can only go out after a certain period of time so she says we'll then wat do you wanna do I said can't I get a refund on my deposit she said no it was a last minute cancelation so my question is did I ask for this unforseen circumstance to happen really I'm very disappointed in this agency

You made a deposit payment of R500.00 on 9 April for a stay scheduled from 26 to 28 April 2024. On 23 April, you informed our Reservations team of the passing of your father-in-law, for which we extend our heartfelt condolences.
At that time, you requested that we hold the booking deposit, indicating that you intended to postpone your stay and would advise us of new dates in due course. Our Reservations team followed up with you on several occasions, and each time, you advised that a new date had not yet been decided.
On 7 June, we reached out for a final time to confirm whether you had selected new dates. As no date had been confirmed, and after consultation with the property owner, we had no choice but to cancel the reservation. Unfortunately, we were unable to keep the booking open indefinitely without a confirmed date.
Had we received confirmation of new dates, we would have been more than happy to accommodate your request.
Once again, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.
