Unreasonable Delay and Poor Service from GEPF Regarding Divorce Pension Claim

I am extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received from the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF).

I submitted all the required documents for my divorce pension interest claim on 17 July 2025, as stated in my Final Decree of Divorce issued by the Magistrate’s Court. My decree clearly states that I am entitled to 50% of my ex-spouse’s pension interest after his 22 years of service

A month after submitting, I followed up and was told by a GEPF consultant that everything was in order and that my documents were with their legal department. I was advised to wait 60 working days for processing. After the full waiting period, I contacted GEPF again — only to be told that my decree did not have an official court stamp and that the percentage was not stated, which is completely untrue.

My lawyer confirmed that the official court stamp is visible on every page, and the decree clearly states that I must receive 50% of the pension. The GEPF’s inconsistent information and delays have caused unnecessary stress and hardship.

I am a mother of three children, currently unemployed, and struggling financially. This entire situation has placed me under immense emotional and financial strain.

I urge the GEPF to take accountability, train their staff properly, and resolve legitimate claims like mine without further unnecessary delays. This process has been exhausting, unfair, and deeply disappointing.
