Theft of the educator's pension money payout - ***** by the GEPF

Dear Office of Ombudsman, Department of Basic Education and Pension Fund Adjudicator. I am a former Basic Education educator of more than 12 years and 9 months of service. I tendered my resignation on the 01st of October 2023, and my last day of duty was on the 31st of December 2023. I claimed my Pension fund payout from the Government Employee Pension Fund (GEPF). The estimated payment figure that was provided to me by the GEPF was R800k +, and the actual payment (first and last) I received this week is R256k. I find it impossible that the pension deduction that was made on my monthly salary can be limited to R256K after my 12 years and 9 months of service in the department of basic education. I believe that the calculation done by the GEPF is wrong. I reported the matter at the GPEF office in Pretoria, and I was not furnished with a clear explanation regarding the matter. I'd like this matter to be treated with utmost urgency and be resolved as soon as possible. I shall wait to hear from you. Thank you,
