Non payment of pension benefits
I resigned from Western Cape Education Department and till date have not received my pension benefits. Every time I call the call centre which has been every few weeks, I get the same answer that they are processing the forms. This is 9 months of frustration and I am disgusted that after 34 years of dedicated service to Government, this is how they treat a pensioner.

Thank you for contacting the GPAA.
With regards to your enquiry, please note that the processing of the pension application has been finalized today.
Kindly be advised that the amount exceeds 1 Million and must be refered for authorization before the GPAA can apply for a tax directive from SARS. .
Once all of the above-mentioned processes have been concluded then only can the payment be released on the next available payment run.
We will keep you updated on the status of the application.
