No compensation payout since 1997

My mother has been awaiting a compensation payout since 1997, for the death of my father who worked as a medical doctor for the department of health and passed away while on duty in 1997. <br> <br> My mother was told, in 2001, that because the original award had been lost, she was required to get a superseding award from Compensation House, in Pretoria, which she needed to take to the department of health in Polokwane to get stamped. The superseding award as well as all the necessary documentation were submitted to the GEPF in 2001, but we never received a letter of correspondence from them and no payment . <br> <br> Since then, my mother has had to travel to Polokwane numerous times, repeating the same process over and over. When we phone the GEPF, we're told that they're still awaiting a response from the GPAA and after a few months of waiting we're told to re-submit all the documents as the certification stamps have expired.<br> <br> Our last submission was on 11 April 2015 and since then I've phoned the GEPF regularly, but receive the same response each week - that they're still awaiting a response from the GPAA and I should phone again the following week. We are considering taking legal action.
