NO CARE AT ALL FOR PENSIONERS - MEDICAL AID SUBSIDY & Gratuity

I am writing with a heavy heart to see that pensioners are not taken care of after hard long service with the government.

I retired in January 2019 but prior to that I sent all my documents to GEPF that were needed for my medical aid assistance after retirement but till to date been sent form pillar to post. 29 Feb 2019 @ 11:04 am, the district office in Queenstown sent a letter again to GEPF for Medical aid continuation. Since January I have been pay R2600 a month out of my pocket to GEMS because I have received no answer and everyday I call the ***number I hold for an hour but will never get an answer or help. Everyone is complaining about the contact centre it seems like no one is working there or monitoring the centre.

Pensioners end up giving up on this and end up dying in public hospitals because GEPF DOESN'T CARE AFTER RETIREMENT. I'm on chronic medication and can't afford to leave without a medical aid. I also received a letter in February that was telling me about my gratuity payment in March and it never happens. why must we suffer when we have worked so hard for this money?

Please intervene as I will now have no choice but to to involve the newspapers about this and not that you even care because your family is sorted.

the least we could get from GEPF is respect because we earn it.
