I don't understand, PLEASE CLARIFY!!

My previous 3 complaints has reference, particularly my complaint dated 9 Oct. I have since been informed by one of the agents that file was returned to finance section on 12 Oct 15. Hilarious that it took 2 weeks to get an omitted date stamp. On 16 Oct I was told that my file had been finalised and that bank authorisation now needs to be done, and that it could take between 2 and 6 weeks to get the authorisation. Only thereafter will a tax directive be requested and payment will then be made.

According to my calculations 60 days expires today based on the day of receipt of my documents, by the Client Liaison Officer, from the Bank of Lisbon, alternatively it will expire on 28 Nov 15 if based on when my claim got registered at GEPF.

So how can it be possible that the remainder of the process prior to payment could still take up to 6 weeks, and this with no erroneous documents submitted by my previous department nor myself.

Could someone at the GEPF please make sense of this process timeline (from receipt of the file until payment happens) for me and all other GEPF members. Please make it as detailed as possible.

I eagerly await a logical explaination to this complaint.
Hello j.com,

The processing of the pension application was finalized ,however the amount exceeds R1 million and has to go for safety web verification via Treasury. Once the safety web verification process is approved the Tax directive will be requested from SARS and then finally the 2nd level bank validation will be done.

Once all of the above-mentioned processes have been concluded then only can the payment be released on the next available payment run. This is an automated process that can take anything from 7 to 14 working days and at times might even take longer if problems are encountered on/with the information.

We will keep you updated on the status of the application.

Kind Regards
Megan Lambert
