Guardian Funds claim\inheritance

Guardian Funds claim: Ref CP***1 Late Estate FS Mabhena id ***

My daughters father passed away in 2008 , her inheritance was then sent to Guardian Funds after 12years my daughter made a claim at Pretoria Master's office , we are currently struggling with the application for my daughter’s inheritance because of the spelling error on her father's death certificate . Proceeds of the funeral benefit was paid to bury her father with the same death certificate

The claim was submitted 3 times at the Master's office the claim was rejected 3 times based following conditions:

• 1st application was done on the 30th of June 2020 the office was closed due to COVID-19 Cases. we were advised to submit the application forms via labelled boxes. The application was declined due to not meeting all the requirements one of the requirements was that the bank statement should be stamped physically not electronic , the other requirement was the original letter from the GDPF.

• 2nd application was done in September 2020 The application was declined due to unabridged certificate , hence my daughter is now 18years old she was born prior the times of unabridged however I never gave up I went to home affairs and app**** for the unabridged of which then home affairs advised me that since her father passed away in 2008 he can not be included on the unabridged even thou I have the death certificate and understandably so .

• 3rd application was done on the 23rd of October with all the required documents, I have supp**** with even extra documents like the executorship , abridged birth certificate and copy of id of the deceased . On arrival I was advised to get a stamped letter from the GDPF as in my possession i had 2 letters one was stamped and the other letter was not stamped but the letters indicated the same values

We then drove to GDPF offices and we are based in East rand we drove around Pretoria to find the GDPF offices to request the updated letter we also ensured that it was stamped , we drove back to the Masters office .The claim was still not processed due to the following reasons:

• The Surname on the death certificate was written as Mabheha instead of Mabhena • The matter was escalated to GEPF by the Master and request GEPF to issue a letter to Guardian’s Fund to confirm that the Guardian’s Fund can process the payment based on the information provided by GEPF and that GEPF will indemnified the Master if any incorrect payments have been made in this matter.

The matter was referred to Bezuidenhout Theresia <***> who then referred the matter to Vanessa Heenop <*** who then advised the matter will be referred to their legal department till today No feedback was received and my daughter is due to go to Tertiary school she needs funds to further her studies

I fail to understand as to what is hindering GEPF to give authority as my husband funeral benefit paid out for his funeral cost and inheritance for the first born Son , its 12 years now they are refusing to give authority for my my daughters inheritance as a results of typo error done my home affairs 12 years i go . i even when to home affairs to try and correct the error i was told that the death certificate will be issued as initially issued 12 years ago its the same death certificate that was submitted to Guardians fund by GEPF ALL DOCUMENTS ARE EXCACTLY THE SAME WHY SHOULD MY DAUGHTER SUFFER
