GEPF appalling behaviour, disappointed citizen
It has been 7 months since Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) indicated that my claim is in the final phase of processing. Within that final phase are a number of multiple phases that are kept secret. GEPF is more determined to make applicants suffer, with the hope that they will give up on their claims. There is no interest in service delivery or being responsive to public needs. I sent supporting documents for the claim over a year ago and was only informed months after that my documents sent were incomplete after countless follow up calls and visits to the department. I then resubmitted my documents and to this day my claim has been sitting with their Legal Department to verify the documents I sent 7 months ago. To this day I call the GEPF and one of the agents escalated the matter with the Legal Department, the escalation process usually takes 7 days to be resolved but I haven’t received any feedback. I was told by one of the agents that it looks like the legal department haven’t even looked at my application. This is really poor and disappointing behaviour by the GEPF to make South African hard working citizens suffer for the money they’ve worked for as a paying tax citizen. My family is frustrated by this. Can the GEPF do better!
